Nossic Ops terms
Version 1 · 17 October 2026
In short
- Anyone with a Nossic ID can use Nossic Ops to monitor machines and services they're responsible for. An owner or admin accepts these terms for their organisation before adding anything.
- Only install the agent on machines you own or are allowed to monitor, and only point checks at things you're allowed to check.
- Your organisation's machines, numbers and alerts are private to it. Nobody else using Nossic Ops can see them.
- Alerts are best effort: we work hard to deliver them, but Nossic Ops isn't a guarantee that you'll hear about every problem.
- For personal data on the machines you monitor, you are the controller and Nossic processes it for you, under the Nossic Ops data processing terms.
1. The service
Nossic Ops collects numbers, inventory and (if you switch them on) logs from the nossic-ops-agent program you install, runs the checks you set up, opens incidents when your alert rules say so, and tells the people and channels you choose by push, email, Discord, SMS or webhook. It also offers public status pages, an API and an MCP server for AI agents.
The free plan's limits are shown in the app (Settings › Plan). We may change plans and limits with at least 30 days' notice to organisation owners; paid plans, when they come, will have their own price and terms shown before you choose them.
2. Your organisation
Everything belongs to an organisation in Nossic Accounts. Its owners and admins add and change hosts, checks, rules, channels, rotas and status pages; its members see them and can acknowledge and resolve incidents. You're responsible for who you let into your organisation, for the API keys and enrolment tokens you make, and for keeping them secret.
3. Acceptable use
- Install the agent only on machines you own or have permission to monitor, and tell the people who use them where your own rules require it.
- Point checks only at addresses you're allowed to test. No scanning, load testing or attacking other people's systems with Nossic Ops.
- Only add email addresses, phone numbers and Discord or webhook addresses that you're allowed to send alerts to. Email addresses and phone numbers are confirmed before anything is sent.
- Don't use status pages, alerts or webhooks to send spam or misleading content.
- Don't try to get around plan limits, the agent's safety rules or other organisations' privacy.
We may pause checks, channels or organisations that break these rules or put the service or others at risk, and we'll tell the owners why.
4. The agent
The agent runs with administrator rights on your machine so it can read hardware health and system state. It only connects out to Nossic Ops. It does actions (such as restarting a service) only when that machine's own settings file allows them, and never runs commands it isn't configured for. Releases are signed by Nossic and the agent checks the signature before updating itself; you can turn automatic updates off per host. You're responsible for what you allow it to do on your machines.
5. Alerts and availability
We aim to keep Nossic Ops running and to deliver alerts promptly, but networks, mail servers, push services, Discord and SMS providers can fail or delay messages, and our own servers need maintenance. Use more than one way of being told for anything critical. Nossic Ops is provided "as is"; to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses caused by an alert that was late, missed or wrong, or by actions you asked an agent to take. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
6. Your data
Your data stays yours. We keep it in the UK on Nossic's own servers, for the times listed in our privacy notice, and use it only to run Nossic Ops for you. You can remove a host (which deletes its history straight away), export what you need through the API, and delete your organisation in Nossic Accounts.
7. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; we'll give organisation owners at least 30 days' notice of changes that materially affect them. You can stop using Nossic Ops at any time by removing your hosts and checks. Questions: privacy@nossic.uk.
